Cambridge North is a new 14 ha (34 acre) urban quarter at the north eastern fringe of Cambridge on the site of former railway sidings.
Network Rail achieved planning approval for a new Station serving the North Eastern fringe of Cambridge and the Cambridge Science Park in 2013. The application included a new station square and associated parking and infrastructure.
Formation Architects is developing a site wide masterplan which seeks to maximise the development potential for the site which benefits from excellent transport links to Cambridge and London.
The proposals include an urban residential quarter close to the station and a 1m sqft business park as well as a hotel, retail, an enlarged station square and new high quality public open space.
