The Langham Hotel was opened in 1865 and was once one of the grandest hotels in London. Formation Architects has a long working relationship with the hotel having been appointed by each of the hotel’s owners for different phases of work since the late 1980’s.
Great Eagle Hotels, now re-branded as Langham Hotels International, commissioned Formation Architects as lead architects for a major £50m upgrade of the hotel to provide 5 star accommodation. This included a new bar, restaurant, public areas, and a new business centre with meeting room facilities and larger bedrooms and suites. All the work was carried out whilst the hotel remained open. Formation Architects worked with well known interior design practices such as David Collins to execute the project.
