Experience:
Hayden joined Formation Architects in 2016 following his Part 2 academic course. His studies at London Metropolitan University under the guidance of award-winning practitioners helped to develop an interest in an architecture that is grounded within practice and the city. Hayden’s design projects are informed by careful consideration of design at all scales through a synthesis of drawing and making. The themes of the projects revolve around experimentation of composition and spatial richness through techniques of sampling and studying of precedents. Hayden is currently studying for Part 3 qualification.
At Formation Architects, Hayden has worked on a variety of high-end residential schemes. His experience includes working on listed private homes within conservation areas and locally sensitive new build projects in London and the wider UK. Hayden has been involved in a range of activities across the design stages from preparing successful planning and listed building consent applications to working directly on site with contractors. He is currently enjoying hands on experience with a new build project on site in Brighton. Hayden has enjoyed working collaboratively within a team of consultants and sub-contractors in order to complete and deliver challenging design packages, including basements and complex roof steelwork.
Hayden is proactive in events in the wider industry and has taken an active role in volunteering and contributing to Architecture Foundation events. He has been involved in building exhibition spaces for festivals and installations for performances. Hayden is also passionate at being involved in charity work and regularly helps at the local night shelter looking after and cooking for homeless guests during the winter. Hayden enjoys being a key member of his local 11 a side football team for the past 5 years.
