Experience:
Jamie has been involved in the Construction Industry for over 25 years, with wide experience in sectors ranging from Petrochemical, Laboratories, Healthcare, M.O.D., Education, Commercial and latterly Student Accommodation and Residential.
Working for Contractors and Architectural Practices has allowed Jamie to understand the practical requirements of delivering Architectural Design Packages with both Construction and Procurement Programmes in mind, whilst taking into account Building Regulations, Insurers’ and other parties’ requirements.
Jamie develops the project design with Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers co-ordinating their work with the Architectural Designs; once Sub-Contractors are on board he then deals with co-ordinating Sub-Contractor Work Packages with a focus at construction interfaces; always being mindful of any site changes that could affect site work order.
This knowledge and experience allows Jamie to produce deliverables utilising 2D and/or 3D electronic drawings/models. The 3D models are essential in the current BIM environment; when linked with the project Specification, this provides a more complete virtual project. Jamie collaborates the Architectural Model with each Design Team Member’s Model throughout the design process to aid/identify design clashes and uses co-ordination reviews with the other consultants. Jamie is also keen for the combined models to be reviewed with the Contractor on a regular basis for their own review - with the aim of achieving a smoother construction process on site.
Jamie joined Formation Architects in 2019 and has primarily worked on a large Mixed Use Residential scheme in West London, which was developed from Stage 3, through Stage 4 to Site with his emphasis on production information developed within the BIM environment.
