Experience:
Marco studied in Venice (Italy), Porto (Portugal), and Cambridge (UK), and practised as an architect in Italy before moving to the UK.
Since joining Formation Architects in 2007, Marco has gained depth of experience in a variety of projects, focussing on residential buildings at the design and planning stage. He has also led several projects from inception to completion in the UK and abroad.
As Director, Marco leads Formation Architects’ pre-planning team, which is involved in the early-stage design of commercial and residential schemes with a range of typologies, locations, tenures, and sizes.
More recently, Marco’s work has focussed on the regeneration of brownfield sites throughout the London Boroughs and Home Counties. Examples include:
Marco is particularly experienced in dealing with projects at an early design stage, making sure that the concept design can ultimately be translated into feasible and beautiful buildings.
His ambition is to deliver homes that people will chose to live in, creating dynamic new neighbourhoods integrated with existing communities. He firmly believes that sensitive design plays a pivotal part in this process.
Marco is a qualified Passive House designer has also completed an MSt at Cambridge’s Wolfson College in Interdisciplinary Design with a focus on sustainability and on the implications of architectural representation in the planning process, which was the focus of his dissertation.
