Experience:
Simon graduated from the University of Sheffield with First Class Honours. After qualifying as an Architect in 1987 he joined the Irish modernist practice Scott Tallon Walker, working in their London office. He spent 20 years at the practice, and was made an Associate in 1994, co-running the office from 2000. During his time there he was responsible for a large variety of projects in both the UK and Ireland, ranging from nursery & secondary schools, university buildings and churches, to hotels, theatres, residential schemes, offices, factories & warehouses, some of which won national awards. He was also responsible for a number of high-profile interior and office fitting out projects.
Simon joined Formation Architects in 2007, to help develop the practice and diversify into new areas of work. Since then, Simon and his team have been responsible for a diverse range of projects. Built projects have included an acclaimed private house in Cookham, a ceramic art gallery in London, Botanic House - a BCO Award winning seven storey office building Cambridge, and the IBIS CB1 hotel - the UK’s first multi storey cycle park which also includes a 230 bed hotel and retail space, also in Cambridge.
Recent projects include Albion House, a converted office building in Woking for Wrenbridge, Two and Three The square - Two new mixed use buildings in Cambridge for Brookgate and the construction delivery of Brentford Waterside – a mixed use residential scheme for Ballymore.
